Game of Thrones to be Filmed in Andalucia

HBO confirmed they will film a portion of its fifth series in the province of Seville, taking full advantage of the area’s stunning historical fortresses and palaces.

Fans of the fantasy series will want to know that Southern Spain,  speckled with its Moorish fortresses and majestic gardens, will represent the Kingdom of Dorne, which the series has yet to debut. It has been widely speculated that the Moorish Royal Alcázar is to appear as of one of the royal palaces, home to the cunning members of House Martell.  Other historic sites in the area not to miss include the La Giralda tower, the Puerta de Seville and the Golden Tower, all evidence of the region’s remarkable past.

Perched high atop the beautiful old town of Carmona and once occupied by Spain’s infamous King Pedro, guests at the Parador Carmona won’t be able to help but imagine they have stepped into scenes of warring clans in the fictional world of Game of Thrones.

Whether it’s to fully immerse in the world of Game of Thrones or to simply experience all that Andalusia has on offer, the historic Parador Carmona offers the best of both.  Guests can wander the restored historic fortress, landscaped gardens, courtyards and terraces which enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The hotel restaurant offers exquisite seasonal cuisine with specialties such as  cod a la chartreuse, wild partridge or Carmona spicy spinach

Keytel are offering 2 nights accommodation at Parador Carmona starting from €292 with breakfast included, based on two people sharing- the equivalent of approx £235. For further information and reservations, visit or call tel: +44 (0) 20 7953 3020.
