New GeniusTravel App Allows Search by Budget Rather Than Destination

December 1 saw the global launch of the new GeniusTravel app, the travel secret weapon for adventurous consumers who want to broaden their holiday horizons. Unlike other travel search tool apps, which lead on destination or airline / hotel partner, GeniusTravel takes a customer-centric approach, focusing on budget first, and allowing you to book holidays the way you always wanted to.
 

Wherever you are in the world, with just two clicks, GeniusTravel generates instant search results from the latest airfares of 1,000 airlines worldwide, as well as over 500,000 hotel rooms and 24,000 car hire locations, for destinations you may never have contemplated in the past.

The revolutionary new Geo-Locator feature even allows travellers to search nearby booking options from the beach or bar, via smartphone, to book  the next destination on their trip.

The ambition of the creators behind GeniusTravel is that it not only empowers people to get more from their holiday budgets, but also that it inspires holidaymakers to step out of their comfort zone and explore destinations they didn’t even know existed.

The app taps into a global travel trend towards budget and inspiration, rather than revisiting the ‘tried and tested’ holiday destinations, year after year.  Recent research has shown that, among Millennials, price is by far the most important factor when booking a holiday (chosen by 90% of respondents).  An increasing amount of travellers – of all ages – are also hunting for rare and authentic experience when booking holidays, rather than traditional holiday favourites such as Benidorm, Lanzarote or Tenerife.

The new travel app, available on iOS and Android, is the latest release from GeniusTravel, the Amsterdam-based start-up that has caused a stir in the holiday booking market in 2014 with the launch, earlier this year, of GeniusFlight.com, the flight booking platform.  In the six months since launch, over a quarter of a million consumers have transformed the way they book their holidays through the site.
